new foto: the pile of burned branches on the hill in my “back yard” — looks the same as it did five years ago when i took the foto, later published “predictions from podunk” on medium.com

the hills north of carson city were burned to the ground during a summer i was visiting friends in port bruce, ontario, canada. maybe 2003.
